Home renews u.s. Southern opulence. Not today that the South of the United States has its own identity when it comes to living well. The maxim holds true for the Texas State that squanders wealth, and who has a very peculiar way to express its opulence.
Located in River Oaks, outside of Houston, this home is a contemporary version of the luxury practiced in these regions. And proves: not always the exaggeration is part of the local accent.
The residence was built in the 1930 's, as John Staub's design. Called Georgian, his style of architecture is used to this day in South residences from the East Coast to the southern, Texas, symbolizing this good living.
The grace of address, however, is in the interior design. The rich palette of colors of furniture talks to the original lines of the House, which had recovered its trim. All this according to the project of interior decorator Laura Umansky.
"Our goal was to create sophisticated environments, but without pretensions," says the architect. The result is a powerful combination of patterns, upholstery coverings, and lines. All range from classic to modern, but always with a freshness typically American, worthy of note anywhere.
