Villa La Rotonda is a Renaissance villa just outside Vicenza, northern Italy, designed by Andrea Palladio. The proper name is Villa Almerico Capra, but it is also known as La Rotonda, Villa Rotonda, Villa Capra and Villa Almerico. The name "Capra" derives from the Capra brothers, who completed the building after it was ceded to them in 1592. Along with other works by Palladio, the building is conserved as part of the World Heritage Site "City of Vicenza and the Palladian Villas of the Veneto"."Perhaps the art of architecture has never reached such a height," the German poet and philosopher Johann Wolfgang von Goethe wrote in his notebook, when he came to La Rotonda in 1786 on a personal pilgrimage. Johann Melchior Dinglinger (26 December 1664 –6 March 1731) was one of Europe's greatest goldsmiths, whose major works for the elector of Saxony, Augustus the Strong, survived in the Grünes Gewölbe (the "Green Vaults"), Dresden. Dinglinger was the last goldsmith to work on the grand scale of Benvenuto Cellini and Wenzel Jamnitzer, fewer of whose large-scale works in precious materials have survived, however. Obeying a thunderbolt, interior designer Pierre Yovanovitch bought a castle XVII, almost a ruin in the south of France. Three years of work later, its high walls became his refuge and intimate light. Some things never change in the idea that there is a castle towers, high walls, isolation (it is preferably located in the heart of a deep forest), the imposing entrance, the staircase, the view (as the entire castle for that matter) ... Pierre Yovanovitch had yet none of these criteria in mind when he found his. Or rather, as he says, when "the castle came to [him." With a real estate agent, he like a dream, a sunny morning in March 2009, a few kilometers drive through forest before discovering the ultra-romantic vision of a building and its four towers seventeenth planted on terraced, along a forest began to invade.
