El Celler De Can Roca
Opened in 1987 by the Roca brothers, (Joan, Jodi and Joseph), third generation of restauranteurs, in Girona, Spain, it owns the outstanding distinction of currently holding 2nd place in the list of the World’s Best Restaurants.
The Roca brothers’ restaurant is the legacy of Can Roca restaurant, opened by their grandfather in the 20’s. Located in a humble neighborhood, it served traditional meals to the man in the street. The move to the current location took place in 2007 and perfectly matches the sophistication of the avant-garde cuisine served today by the Roca family. Now housed in two elegant buildings in a verdant setting, the brothers and their team are devoted to the creation of dishes which challenge the senses and evoke emotions from childhood memories. Serving only seasonal produce, they are continuing a 20 year habit of establishing new concepts and using the most innovative culinary techniques in the production of the dishes.Additions to the Roca family establishments are Mas Marroch, a venue for banquets, Moo, a gourmet hotel restaurant managed by the brothers, Numun, a hotel in Girona, Cap Roig, a summer restaurant in Cap Roig gardens festival and a home catering gourmet cuisine enterprise.
