Ernest Goh knew he wanted to be a photographer when he was just 14-years-old after watching a television program with photography. He started his career as a photographer for a local Singapore newspaper and was ultimately drawn out to shoot animals. In fact, his work is part of a broader initiative known as TabCo, which stands for The Animal Book Company. Goh, TabCo’s Creative Director, believes that the company is a place where people, especially children, can learn to appreciate animals through photography. The project features portrait-like shots of a wide variety of animals, ranging from goldfish to primates. The company also works with international animal welfare groups to use digital media to promote their respective causes. In the coming months, Goh hopes to tailor something specifically for children, noting that it is important to nurture a love for animals at a young age.
