The Schoos redesign of the Huntley Hotel in Santa Monica, California was a combination of two goals: to bring a more worldly, culturally diverse mystique to this former Radisson property; and, to remind guests of the casual beach atmosphere to be found nearby. The hotel features art and furniture pieces from tribal Africa, Thailand and Java, as well as images inspired by the sea, like reclaimed driftwood, silver-dipped sea fans and shell or dolphin tail chairs.
